Christmas is Coming

Welcome back

Christmas is not far away and I have been busy making Christmas cards and kits to sell at Gift Hutt, and this week I wanted to show a card that I have made using a combination of the Heartfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettias stamp and dies combined with the Celebrate the Season paper collection.  I love working with vellum and the Sparkling Poinsettias are just perfect to use with vellum.

For the flowers I have embossed with versamark ink and white Ranger embossing powder.  Before die cutting the flowers I have sponge Memento Summer Sky ink on the back.  After die cutting I have shaped the flowers using the Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Shaping set and finished off applying prisma glitter from my stash on the petals with Art Glitter Dries Clear glue.  The colour was just perfect with the Celebrate the Season paper collection.

The snow has been created using the Art Glitter Dries White glue and sprinkling prisma glitter on top.

Here is the front of the card:

Here is the inside of the card:

Here are close ups of the flowers.

Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose

Welcome back

I have finally got hold of the Classic Rose stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations.  They sold out so quickly that I had to put another order in and save a set for myself.

Here is a card that I have made using the rose set as well as the Classic Rose Vine set.  To find out how I have made my roses click here for the Heartfelt Creations video.  I have coloured in the background images using the Dove blender pen and Memento inks.  The Classic Rose paper collection is stunning and make gorgeous backgrounds for the flowers.  The bride and groom are from the Sue Wilson Happy Couple die.  It is hard to see on the photos, but I have used Wink of Stella on the Classic Rose Vine images and added glitter to the roses for a touch of sparkle.20161009_181752_001

I did muck up a little inside the card and next time I will do things differently with lining up the outside paper, card base and inside paper together before die cutting the aperture.  I managed to save it a little with putting some flowers over the edge.

And here is another card topper I have made using a different colour way.

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy, HC White cardstock

Paper – Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose Paper Collection

Stamps – Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose, Classic Rose Vine, Heartfelt Sentiments

Dies – Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window, Classic Rose, Classic Rose Vine, Fleur Borders and Pockets, Sue Wilson Happy Couple

Inks – Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Lulu Lavender, Bamboo Leaves, Northern Pine, Sweet Plum, Colorbox Berrylicious

I enjoyed making these cards and you can see them at Gift Hutt.  I now have a large range of Heartfelt Creations products for sale and if there is any product I don’t have please feel free to contact me and I can see what I can do for you.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting.

Tutorial for a hinged card using Spellbinders dies.

Welcome back

As promised here is a tutorial on how I have made this hinged card using the lovely Spellbinders die Heirloom Oval.  I love the way you can layer these dies to make lots of different finishes.

Here is the card:

Heartfelt Creations Delightful Daisies, Spellbinders Heirloom Oval

To make the card

Fold a piece of cardstock in half to fit the die – 12″ x 5″

Lay the outer die slightly over the edge of the fold and tape in place prior to putting through your die cutting machine.  I used my Scorpal to try and get it straight.   This will create your hinge.

To decorate the outside layers:

Cut a piece of cream cardstock using the inner, patterned and inner edge dies.

Cut a piece of contrasting colour using the inner and outer edges.  To create this I have placed all three dies together and taped them.

I then removed the inner patterned die to leave the outer edges and then die cut the coloured back.

I then layered the cream patterned piece over the coloured background die cut.

I put foam tape on the back of this piece and then adhered to the base card.

I decorated the card by cutting the centre die out in the coloured card and after cutting in half I have placed them in the middle of the card.

I then decorated with flowers made from the Heartfelt Creations Delightful Daisy set and finished with a tag from the Spellbinders Fancy Labels One.

Welcome back

Next week I have a flower making class followed by a class making bases for the flowers.   I had some fun making these flowers in different colours using the Heartfelt Creations Delightful Daisies stamp and die set.  These are so quick and easy and you can do whatever colour you like.  For these flowers I have heat embossed using the beautiful Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Powder on white cardstock.  Before cutting out using the dies I used my sponge dauber to add the colours – Memento Summer Sky, Dandelion, Lulu Lavender.  I have done the same thing with the leaves and used Memento New Sprout to colour them in.  I have shaped the flowers using my Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  I will be putting a tutorial up later this week on how I have done the hinged card using the Spellbinders Heirloom Oval die.  I was very happy with how this turned out.

Here is a close up of the flowers.

Happily Ever After by Sue Wilson

Welcome back

I had a lovely but very busy weekend at the Wellington Paper Arts and Crafts Show.  I met lots of new people and friends to share my love of paper crafting.

This week I am featuring some Sue Wilson dies from Creative Expressions.  I now have a range of these dies available at Gift Hutt and I think they are elegant and very versatile.

The dies I am using are the Lattice Frame and the Happily Ever After die sets.  I love the look of stitching and the Lattice Frame die is just beautiful and can be used for so many things.  I have made three different sized cards using this die set.

First up is the smallest card using the beautiful pearlised cardstock from Worldwin (it is hard to photograph the finish of this card).  I love cream on cream and this card is so elegant for a wedding.  I have cut two layers of the sentiment to help it stand out as this cardstock is quite light weight.

This second card is the medium size die and I have layered the same lovely cream cardstock with a pearl lavender cardstock which I can no longer get from Rosies Studio.  I love the combination of the colours here.

Finally this is the largest size card and I have changed it around a bit and added a Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret rose for a very versatile card.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Worldwin Diamond Pearl Cardstock, Rosies Studio Pearl cardstock, CTMH Colonial White cardstock

Dies – Sue Wilson – Happily Ever After, Sue Wilson Lattice Frame, Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret

Stamps – Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret

Inks – Memento Lulu Lavender

I hope that I have inspired you to create beautiful and elegant cards using these dies and others.

A Little Tattered Blossoms

Welcome Back

I am busy getting samples ready for the Wellington Paper Arts and Crafts Show next weekend in Porirua, Wellington.  I have now got a wide range of Heartfelt Creations and Spellbinders products for sale along with Memento inks, Art Glitter adhesives and a lot more.

Here is a card that I have made using a Spellbinders die – Majestic Twenty-Five Labels and the Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms cling stamp and die set.  I am really pleased with my flowers and they remind me of the Sweetheart Rose or Cecile Brunner with the soft pink colour and blown petals.

Tutorial on making these flowers:

Stamp a range of different size flowers using Memento Angel Pink ink.  Die cut them out.

Use a misting spray bottle lightly spray the back of the die cuts with water.

I used my stylus from the Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Shaping Kit to shape the petals over and squeeze the ends.  It is hard to show what I did with a still photo but I did not use the slot in the stylus – I bent the petals over the stylus.  For the very small flowers I just squeezed each petal.

I then pressed in the middle to create a bowl shape.

I then let the flowers dry thoroughly before putting them together.

Here is the sequence I have used for the medium flowers.  I have used Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive to put these flowers together.

For the centres I have used Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive and Go Man Go Prills to finish them off.  You could use any small bead or flower soft for the centre.

Products used:

Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy

Paper – Sweet Lullaby

Stamp – Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms, Birds and Blooms Leafy Branch, CTMH Framed

Die – Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms, Birds and Blooms Leafy Branch, Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five

Ink – Memento Angel Pink, Canteloupe, New Sprout, Pistachio, Espresso Truffle

Heartelt Creations Deluxe Shaping Kit

Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive

Prills – Go Man Go

Pearls from my stash.

Stick It Adhesive Sheets

Prisma glitter from my stash

I hope you find the tutorial easy to follow and please feel free to ask any questions.

If you are in the Wellington region next weekend please pop over to the Te Rauparaha Arena to the Wellington Paper Arts and Craft show and come and say hello.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting

Welcome back

I am sorry I have not been posting lately, but I have not been very well and not been able to do much crafting which is frustrating.  However, I did manage to make a couple of cards yesterday which I was pleased about.

I have just received a shipment from Spellbinders of a range of dies and embossing folders.  Spellbinders have a lovely range of embossing folders that coordinate with their nestabilities dies including this Framed Labels Eighteen.  I love this folder because of the different textures in it.  I have paired this embossed cardstock with some lovely flowers from Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret and Delightful Daisies ranges.  Note to self – it is not really a good idea to use a hot glue gun when your hands are shaking a little.  However, the flowers turned out well.  I have rubbed some Cosmic Shimmer Blush over the roses but it is hard to see in the photo.

I do apologise for the quality of the photos – they were taken very quickly with my phone last night.
