Here are a few more cards that I have made over the past couple of weeks.  I have found some lovely papers from DCWV that are so eas to coordinate to make fabulous cards.  I hope you like what I have done with the papers.  I have also included a card with a rugby theme and some sympathy cards.  all the flowers on these cards I have made through using punches from Fiskars and Creative Memories.

My husband’s aunt has just died so I made this card to send to the family.  I have kept it very simple – cream and gold and I feel that it has turned out really well.  I used water colour pencils to colour the image and kept the colours subdued to go with the card.  Sometimes less is more.

I have not done a lot of sewing for a while and I have never really done a lot of quilting.  I have more than enough to do with all my other crafts, but I really needed a new bag.  I have been unable to find a decent ‘pink’ bag in the shops so decided to make myself a bag.  I found a pattern in the shops and along with a piece of material I had at home I purchased all that I needed.  I found this lovely french inspired material ages ago and fortunately I bought a fat quarter at the time as it is no longer available in the shop.  I bought a metre each of coordinating fabric and then commenced to make the bag.  I think I undid more that I sewed in the end as I had to quilt the fabric before cutting out the pattern.  That took some doing as I was not used to doing this as well as not really having a machine designed for quilting.  However, in the end I got the bag done and I am pleased with the results if I don’t look too closely at my quilting.  I am still thinking about adding a few accessories such as an organza flower and perhaps some bling to titivate it.

The pattern I used is:Butterick B5367.

I have been busy over the Easter break making more cards to sell at a cafe in Petone called SweetPea Cafe.  It is really lovely there and on Fridays the staff all dressed up in 1950’s clothes and look gorgeous.  They make and sell divine cupcakes and do a great high tea.  I try and make the cards suit where I am selling them so if you are in the area pop in and say hello to the lovely staff there.

Here are the cards:

Yesterday I went to a craft market and bought this gorgeous foil paper tole sheet and managed to make 10 cards out of it along with matching Bazzill cardstock.  I am really pleased at how they turned out.  I will be selling these cards at a Beauty Shop so they are really appropriate for this venue.  I try to match up the cards with the place I am selling at.  Anyway here they are:

I have just finished this scarf which I am really pleased with.  The wool is 100% Alpaca and it took 7 balls of 50 gms to complete.  I have got some more wool on layby to make a matching hat and gloves.  I have not done any crochet for many years so it has been a huge learning curve about the different stitches and different terminology depending on which part of the world you come from.  But I have discovered I enjoy crochet more than knitting as there are less ends to sew in and seams to stitch up!  I purchased this wool from The Wool Shop NZ.  I have got the pattern from Pinterest and   have also put this pattern on my finished projects board  on my Pinterest account.  The scarf is meant to be a lot wider than this, but I ran out of wool and it would have been very heavy to wear.  I can’t wait to wear it when it gets colder.
